Wednesday marks the one-year anniversary of the death of Freddie Gray at the hands of Baltimore police officers, and in an unfortunate coincidence, or a continued sign of the times, depending on your worldview, two plainclothes detectives pursued and shot a 13-year-old boy carrying a “replica” weapon in East Baltimore. The boy was shot in the leg and the injuries are not fatal, according to police.
Baltimore Police Commissioner Kevin Davis said the boy did not obey commands to stop. "No police officer wants to shoot a 13-year-old," Davis said. "I have no reason to believe that these officers acted inappropriately at this moment."
