A male Apple employee was found dead of a gunshot wound in a conference room at the Apple campus in Cupertino, California, on Wednesday, authorities say; a police spokeswoman’s comments on the situation appear to imply that the wound was self-inflicted. From a San Jose Mercury News report quoting Andrea Urena of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office:
“They found one individual male down and that he was deceased,” Urena said. “Through further investigation they determined that there were no other individuals involved and they believe it was an isolated incident, and that there’s nobody else on the campus or in the public that is at risk.”
Police were notified about the incident at approximately 8:30 a.m. PT and a gun was reportedly recovered near the man’s body.
