Today’s Trump Apocalypse Watch: Playing Sort of Nice, Possibly

The Trump Apocalypse Watch is a subjective daily estimate, using a scale of one to four horsemen, of how likely it is that Donald Trump will be elected president, thus triggering an apocalypse in which we all die.

’Twas another fairly quiet day on the Trump front—which is not a great sign for him. Time was when news bloggers could reliably count on the man for at least one enormously well-read post a day. But lately it seems like there’s been more juice on the Cruz beat. Will that change next week if/when Trump, as expected, wins big in New York? Maybe!

In the here and now, the Trump family went on CNN for some town-hall questions. No one said anything damaging or insane, but no one got asked anything really difficult, either, and the appearance doesn’t seem to have any created any buzz of the “maybe he’s not so bad” variety, which seems like a narrative that will have to take hold at some point soon for Trump to get enough primary votes/delegates to win the Republican nomination outright. In related news, Fox News host Megyn Kelly met in private with Trump, with whom she’s feuded for months; that could augur some sort of beef-squashing on-air sitdown between the two.

For now, though, the danger level still remains relatively low.
