Republican Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley has been in the soup lately because of allegations that he misused state resources while carrying out an affair with his top adviser. (Bentley has denied that he misused any state funds and says that his relationship with the adviser was inappropriate but not “physical”—which is weird because he was recorded on tape telling her he enjoyed touching her breasts and that they would need to “start having to lock the door” when together.) Tuesday, the Alabama site Yellowhammer News cited “multiple sources” in a report that Bentley had his wallet flown to him by state helicopter after hastily fleeing his house in the wake of a 2015 argument with his then-wife about his alleged affair:

As a result of the argument, Gov. Bentley left the residence in his pickup truck and drove toward the couple’s beach house in Ft. Morgan, Alabama. … When the governor arrived at his beach house, he realized that in his rush to leave, he had forgotten his wallet.

At that point, he ordered one of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) helicopters to deliver it to him, which it did.

An Alabama TV station says it has a source that told it the same story. Bentley’s office doesn’t seem to have responded to the allegation.
