Wyoming Caucus Unlikely to Slow Down Bernie Sanders’ Unstoppable Momentum*

Good news for Bernie Sanders! He’s probably going to win this weekend’s Wyoming Democratic caucus. (Ted Cruz won 9 of the state’s 11 available Republican delegates on March 12.) There don’t appear to be any available polls of the state’s Democrats, but Sanders won easily in neighboring Idaho and Utah and is thus expected to do well in Wyoming as well. It would make for Sanders’ seventh state win in a row, which is, like, a lot of wins in a row.

Bad news for Bernie Sanders! Wyoming is tiny (pop. 3 humans and 1 elk). It’s only sending 18 delegates to the Democratic convention, of whom 14 are up for grabs Saturday, and this Daily Kos estimate projects that at best Sanders will win 10 of them, which would only cut into Hillary Clinton’s 688-delegate lead (including both regular and superdelegates) by six delegates. And he’ll still be unlikely to have a chance to win at the Democratic convention.

So, basically, Wyoming will be good for Sanders, but not real good.
