Area Presidential Candidate Eats Ridiculous Amount of Italian Food

On Wednesday, we wrote about the strange tradition of watching presidential candidates eat food. Photographs in the piece depicted Ted Cruz, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Donald Trump eating in various contrived, awkward settings. Thursday, though, Republican candidate John Kasich made a stop at an Italian restaurant in the Bronx—New York’s primary is on April 19—and wow, say what you will about John Kasich’s politics, but there is no doubt that the man authentically and sincerely loves himself some Italian food. Here’s another angle of his spread:

And there’s certainly nothing contrived, after apparently digging in on one of the heroes above and eating two servings of spaghetti, about then ordering more Italian food:

Nothing moderate about this guy’s diet, am I right?

The bad news for Kasich is that he’s trailing Donald Trump by 31 points in RealClearPolitics’ New York primary polling average. With the Republican nomination as with that huge plate of cold cuts above, Kasich’s ambition/appetite is impressive, but he’s probably going to need some help to finish the job/food in front of him.
