Mitt Romney Announces, Unenthusiastically, That He Is Voting for Ted Cruz

After campaigning for John Kasich this week in Ohio, Mitt Romney has announced that he’ll be voting for Ted Cruz in next week’s Utah caucus simply because Cruz has the best chance of keeping Trump from being nominated with a first-ballot majority at July’s Republican convention:

Polling in Utah indicates that Kasich has little chance to win in that state, and he can’t mathematically win enough delegates to beat Trump on the first ballot. (Cruz can’t either, but he’s in better position than Kasich to keep Trump from getting a majority.)
