Slate’s Joshua Keating observed ruefully earlier Thursday that Rand Paul’s failure to qualify for the Republican debate meant that there would be no one onstage to argue against a foreign policy of crazy, indiscriminate bombing. As it turns out, some protesters in the North Charleston, South Carolina, crowd wanted to make their feelings about Paul’s absence known as well:
“We want Rand! We want Rand!” they said, for a few seconds, before stopping so John Kasich could talk. Very respectful of John Kasich’s time, these (presumably millennial) protesters are. Nice kids, really.
