News Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch casually announced his engagement Monday to former actress, supermodel, and Mic Jagger partner, Jerry Hall. The unlikely relationship between the 84-year-old Murdoch and 59-year-old Hall was thrust into the public sphere in October and the couple reportedly got engaged over the weekend while in Los Angeles for the Golden Globes.
The announcement came via a small ad placed in the announcement section of the Murdoch-owned Times.

A family spokesman reportedly also told The Times: "They have loved these past months together, are thrilled to be getting married and excited about their future." It has been a whirlwind four-month courtship for the couple and follows Murdoch's divorce from his third wife Wendi Deng in 2013. Hall was in a 23-year relationship with Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, with whom she has four children. Their unofficial Bali wedding was declared invalid when they split in 1999, meaning Hall's marriage to Murdoch will be her first.
