Video Shows San Francisco Police Officers Firing on Man with Knife Surrounded on Street

In San Francisco’s Bayview District, disturbing footage shows a police shooting just after 5 p.m. local time on Wednesday. The San Francisco police department says that the black man shot and killed by police had a knife. The details of the standoff remain unclear, but footage apparently taken by a bystander on a bus stopped nearby shows some six police officers surrounding the man all with guns drawn. You can hear people on the street yelling “drop it, please!” The man begins to walk shakily up the street before what sounds like nearly two dozen shots are fired. SFPD has said the man sustained injuries, but has not said to what extent.
