Paris Bomb Heard in Video of France-Germany Soccer Match

An explosion outside of Paris’ Stade de France could be heard inside the stadium after attackers launched what appeared to be a coordinated terrorist attack around the stadium and in different parts of the city on Friday. The explosion can be heard in the above video during a broadcast of the game. Television announcers mistakenly attribute the explosions to firecrackers around the stadium, but the BBC reports that at least three explosions happened outside a bar near the stadium that appear to have been part of the start of an attack that has killed at least 18 people.

French newspaper Libération reported that French President François Hollande was at the international friendly match between France and Germany and “left the [stadium] to meet with a crisis committee.” The match continued to its end. In the below video, you can see fans on the field after the match ended and the stadium was being evacuated. Public address announcers are heard to say “please do not panic.”

The stadium scoreboard described the reason for the evacuation as an incident outside the stadium and asked everyone to use the same specific exit
