He sang! He laughed! He didn’t cry?
House Speaker John Boehner showed plenty of emotion on Friday during an afternoon press conference that came only hours after he announced plans to give up his gavel and resign from Congress at the end of next month. He walked on stage singing, cracked a few jokes, got a little wistful about the past, and wrapped things up on a high note. The only thing missing? The one thing everyone was expecting: his trademark tears. Boehner did reach for his handkerchief a few times throughout the event but, in the end, managed to keep his eyes (mostly) dry.
