Pope Francis took a brief popemobile trip along the National Mall this morning after his appearance at the White House. The famously hands-on pope was mostly kept separated from the crowds lining his route by barricades and police officers, but at one point a small girl got through with what appeared to be a gift and a note for him; he motioned his motorcade to a stop and a security official carried the girl over to see him.

There’s no word yet as to what she handed him or how she got through the barricades. She might have just slipped through, because she is very small. Update, 12:05 p.m.: Apparently her name is Sofi Cruz, she’s five years old, her gift was a t-shirt, and her note was about interceding on the behalf of immigrants.
