Donald Trump has been taking some heat in recent days because he has a long history of donating money to Democratic politicians including Hillary Clinton. Pressed on the issue by the hosts of Fox’s Republican presidential debate, he tried to spin the donations into the actions of a savvy businessman who had no choice but to pay into America’s corrupt game of favor trading. Specifically, he said, he got Hillary Clinton to come to his 2005 wedding to Melania Knauss because he had given her money.
Fact check: true! Well, it’s true, at least, that she came to his wedding, and so did Bill. Rudy Giuliani, George Pataki, Katie Couric, Derek Jeter, Barbara Walters, Anna Wintour, Simon Cowell, Kelly Ripa, Sylvester Stallone, Shaquille O’Neal, Oprah, and Don King were there too!
