Hillary Clinton Reportedly Signs Lease for Brooklyn Campaign Headquarters

It won’t be long, though.

Setting the stage for at least 100,000 jokes of the sort I’ve engaged in above, Hillary Clinton has reportedly signed a lease for presidential campaign headquarters space in a Brooklyn office building. (She has yet, however, to officially declare that she is running.)

Somewhat confusingly, the address (1 Pierrepont Plaza) appears to be in the Brooklyn Heights residential neighborhood if you search it on Google Maps. But the building’s website clarifies that it’s actually near a cluster of courthouses and other government buildings in what is probably better described as “downtown Brooklyn.”

Other tenants at 1 Pierrepont Plaza include the investment bank Morgan Stanley (which just might be something that the Wall Street-wary Bernie Sanders- and Elizabeth Warren-supporting wing of the Democratic primary electorate notices) and the office of the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York (who, as it happens, is currently long-delayed attorney general nominee Loretta Lynch).
