In 2014 a manipulated image in a NRA television ad was used to suggest that Iowa Senate candidate Bruce Braley had lied about not having met former New York City Mayor and well-known gun control advocate Michael Bloomberg.
The two men had attended the same large event (which was not gun-control-related) but did not share a stage, and there’s no evidence they came in contact with each other.
