In 2005, Tamara Green became one of the first women to publicly accuse Bill Cosby of sexual assault; she alleges that he drugged and groped her in the 1970s when she was working as a model. Cosby’s representatives said at the time and have repeated recently that Cosby never knew Green and that the allegations are false. Green is now suing the comedian for defamation. From People:
“People I knew looked me right in the face and told me they didn’t believe me,” she says. “It’s crushing to be dismissed like that.”
“It has ended some relationships for me,” she says. “When the smoke cleared and the blood dried, I moved to a piece of land that had about an acre between me and the front gate. No bell either.”
“In their opinion, you’re a liar and it doesn’t bother them at all that they have no idea what they’re talking about,” she added.
Green, now 66, lives in Southern California. She is a retired attorney. Her license to practice law was suspended for six months in 2006 over issues including mishandling of client funds.
