Enormous Apocalyptic-Looking Fire Shuts Down L.A. Freeways, No Injuries Reported

A huge blaze at a construction site in downtown Los Angeles shut down the 101 and 110 freeways this morning, required the services of more than 250 firefighters, and created some striking images. Fortunately, no one seems to have been hurt.

The building under construction was a seven-story apartment structure.

The cause of the fire, which broke out at around 1:20 a.m. local time, is not yet known.
