Actor Johnny Deep is eccentric. We get it. Sometimes, however, being eccentric and simply being drunk can look an awful lot alike. On Friday night, Depp took to the stage at the Hollywood Film Awards to introduce Mike Myers’ documentary Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon. During the tribute to Hollywood heavyweight Gordon, Depp appeared to be, well, pretty drunk. Depp’s opening statement: “That’s the weirdest microphone I’ve ever seen in my life … right?” Right.
“It’s just one of those nights,” Depp said to conclude his meandering monologue before CBS appeared to cut him off. “Backstage, [Seth] Myers called Depp’s expletive-laden introduction ‘very rock n’ roll,’ ” according to Variety.
