Friday’s shooting at a Washington state high school claimed another young life over the weekend when one of the teenagers injured during the attack died in the hospital on Sunday night. Gia Soriano, 14, was critically injured during the cafeteria shooting by Jaylen Fryberg and passed away two days later at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. “We are devastated by this senseless tragedy,” Soriano’s family said in a statement. “Gia is our beautiful daughter and words cannot express how much we will miss her.”

Fryberg shot and killed another still-unidentified female classmate on Friday before killing himself. Three other Marysville-Pilchuck High School students are still in the hospital; two are in critical condition. The school remained closed on Monday as it tries to cope with the deadly shooting. Adding to the sense of grief and confusion is that Fryberg—a member of a prominent family in the local Native American community—appeared to know or was related to each of the students he shot. “Two of the victims, Nate Hatch, 14, and Andrew Fryberg, 15, are relatives of the shooter, according to Hatch’s grandfather and a source within the Tulalip Tribes,” ABC News reports. “Andrew Fryberg was listed in critical condition, while Hatch was in serious condition. A third victim, Shaylee Chuckulnaskit, 14, was listed in critical condition at a different hospital Sunday, hospital officials said in a statement.”
