Chelsea Clinton took to Twitter early Saturday morning to announce that former president Bill Clinton and ex-secretary of State Hillary Clinton had become grandparents. Thirty-four-year-old Chelsea gave birth to her first child on Friday—a daughter named Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky. Her parents retweeted the news but did not make any comment of their own.

Marc refers to her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, whom she married in 2010.

Chelsea Clinton had announced her pregnancy on April 17, expressing “hope that I will be as good a mom to my child and hopefully children as my mom was to me.” She told CNN she didn’t want to know the sex of the baby because “there are so few mysteries in life … in which any answer is a happy one.” And now Chelsea will have more time to learn the ropes of being a mother as she announced last month that she was leaving her job at NBC News to focus on her first child and her work at the Clinton family foundation.

Recently, both Bill and Hillary publicly gushed about how excited they were at the prospect of becoming grandparents. Hillary Clinton said that becoming a grandmother would give her the “most exciting title yet.” The former Secretary of State also said she didn’t want to make any decisions about whether she would run for president until after the baby’s arrival, notes the Associated Press. For his part, Bill Clinton has also made it clear he was eager to begin his new role as grandfather but said he didn’t want to become overbearing. “I’m also trying to remind myself how I felt when I became a father,” Clinton told Bloomberg News. “We need to be there in a supportive role but we don’t need to overstep.”

Even President Obama got in on the baby watch earlier this week, telling an audience at the Clinton Global Initiative that “if Chelsea begins delivery while I’m speaking, she has my motorcade and will be able to navigate [New York] traffic.”
