Not that Isis.

Via Mobile Marketing Watch, a case of a very inopportune coincidence:

The ISIS brand plastered across innumerable mobile payments systems in the U.S. today is getting a facelift as a means to avoid an unfortunate and inadvertent association.

As it turns out, the ISIS name happens to also be affiliated with a militant group in the Middle East. Understandably, the mobile payments company wants to [sic] part of this association.

The Isis company is a joint venture of AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon that makes an instant phone payment app, and the company’s CEO writes in an open letter that it will change its identity—the new name is yet to be determined—to differentiate itself from the terrorist group that would like to create a new fundamentalist Islamic state between Iraq and Syria.
