East Coast Expected to Be Rocked by Storms Over Fourth of July Weekend

Tropical storm Arthur is forecast to become a hurricane and “skim” North Carolina on the Fourth of July. From the AP:

The storm’s maximum sustained winds early Wednesday were near 60 mph (95 kph), and the National Hurricane Center said Arthur was expected to strengthen to a hurricane by Thursday.

Meanwhile, severe storms are expected farther north along the East Coast on Thursday. From the Weather Channel:

And Arthur is forecasted to make its way north over the weekend, possibly touching New England on Saturday.
