Russia is contributing 12 warplanes and the advice of military “experts” to the Iraqi government’s war against Islamic State of Iraq and Syria rebels, the New York Times reports.

The Iraqi military is also currently supported by:

- 300 United States advisors and some United States drones

- Airstrikes carried out by Bashar al-Assad’s Syrian government

- Iranian drones and the reported on-the-ground efforts of elite Iranian units

The United States, Iran, Syria, and Russia: a dream team of 21st-century global instigators.
