Eight individuals arrested today in Spain are suspected of recruiting for the ISIS terrorist group that has seized control of several major cities in Iraq, officials said. From Al-Jazeera:
The ministry said the cell was led by an individual who lives in Spain but had previously been jailed in Guantanamo Bay after being arrested in Afghanistan in 2001.
Spain gave no immediate details on the nationalities of the arrested.
Meanwhile, a French national was arrested Saturday in Germany on suspicion of fighting for ISIS in Syria, while two other German nationals “linked to extremist groups” were arrested in their home country last Thursday and Friday.
