Early last Thursday NYPD detective Jay Poggi, who was on duty, allegedly shot his partner in the wrist by accident after they had been drinking together. He was later charged with driving while intoxicated, though apparently hasn’t yet been charged for anything related to the shooting.

This Tuesday, off-duty NYPD officer Brendan Cronin pulled up to a stoplight in Westchester County, north of New York City, and shot at a nearby car 13 times while apparently drunk. Six of the shots hit the passenger, who is now in stable condition. Cronin was arrested for assault. And a few hours later, NYPD sargent Wanda Anthony, also allegedly drunk, is said to have opened fire outside a strip club in New Jersey. (No one was hurt.) She’s been charged, at least initially, with DWI.

Yikes.
