Maybe she was confused about what potluck means? A Northern California elementary school teacher was arrested Friday for allegedly taking food laced with marijuana to a potluck dinner with her colleagues. The teacher was arrested “on suspicion of willfully mingling a poison or harmful substance with food,” reports the San Francisco Chronicle.

Officials had been investigating the issue for more than a month before they arrested the 47-year-old teacher, reports the Associated Press. Several people reportedly got sick after the party and making matters worse, one of those present even took some of the food home, where it was eaten by a 15-year-old, who also got sick.

“One of the partygoers was rushed to the hospital with severe reactions; she was hospitalized,” Lt. Frank Hartig of the Benicia Police Department said, according to CNN. “The very next morning, another partygoer was taken to the hospital, because she continued to feel like she was under the influence of something.” At least one person tested positive for THC, which is the main active ingredient in marijuana.
