In Which Michelle Obama Dunks on Dwyane Wade (With a Little Help From LeBron James)

The Miami Heat last week visited the White House, where LeBron James and co. were honored by President Obama for winning their second NBA championship in as many years. If you would have asked me this morning, I would have told you that the runaway highlight of that visit was the president having some fun at the expense of Mario Chalmers, the Heat’s starting point guard and de facto much-teased little brother.

After seeing this new promo for Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign that debuted this morning on Good Morning America, however, I’m willing to concede the president has some in-house competition:

That’s Heat center Chris Bosh’s displaying his photo-bombing prowess early on, but that’s only a precursor to the main event: the first lady’s thunderous dunk (almost, kinda—close enough) over Dwyane Wade and Ray Allen, and her subsequent posing for the camera.

For those looking for a little context, Michelle’s out-of-nowhere dunk is something of an homage to the meme of the surprise posterization that picked up steam last year. Here’s ESPN filming Victor Oladipo and Cody Zeller showing you how it’s done by professionals:

Note: I’m a Davidson College graduate, so I’ll always be partial to anyone or anything that makes fun of Mario Chalmers, who crushed my school’s dreams of a Cinderella run to the Final Four in 2008.
