The Supreme Court stepped into the marriage debate in Utah on Monday blocking same-sex marriages in the state until an appeal is heard in the case. According to NPR, “the order issued by Justice Sonia Sotomayor on Monday puts marriages on hold until an appeal is decided by the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.” Last month, a district court judge struck down Utah’s ban on gay marriage.
