The Country Music Awards Opened With a Long Joke About Obamacare

I didn’t catch the Country Music Awards last night, but my Twitter feed—along with the Birmingham News—tells me that this was the moment that had everyone talking. For the uninitiated, that’s Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley (who it should be noted has previously had more than a few kind words for President Obama). The song is a parody of “Amarillo by Morning,” made famous by George Strait back in the early 80s. The gag seems to have been a hit with everyone inside the Nashville arena—well, with the possible exception of Taylor Swift, who looked like she was either unamused or didn’t get the joke.
