I would have hoped that, “No,” would have sufficed in place of the 19 paragraphs the Associated Press published this afternoon on whether it’s ever OK to wear blackface as part of your Halloween costume (or perhaps “No, never” for the sake of clarity).
That said, I’m not really picking on the AP here for running what amounts to a lengthy Halloween PSA. It’s become painfully clear that the lesson is one that bears repeating.
