President Obama held what amounted to an Obamacare pep rally at the White House today, during which he declared there is “no excuse” for the current problems plaguing Healthcare.gov while promising that everyone who wants to get insurance through the new exchanges will be able to do so. Then, as his speech was nearly over, a pregnant woman who was on stage for the event appeared to almost pass out.* “This happens when I talk too long,” the president joked after first coming to her aid.
*Correction, Monday, Oct. 21: An earlier version of this post mistakenly described the woman as an “Obamacare enrollee.” She has since been identified by the White House as Karmel Allison, a diabetic who has blogged about her excitement about what she says is the freedom Obamacare will give to her and others with pre-existing conditions.
