PSA: No, Rep. CW Bill Young Is Not Dead (But He Is “Gravely” Ill)

A PSA, courtesy of Tampa Bay Times political editor Adam Smith:

Young, a Republican lawmaker from Florida who has spent more than four decades in the House, announced earlier this month that he plans to retire at the end of his current term. The 82-year-old congressman cited health concerns as one reason for his retirement, and is currently at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. According to the Times, he is being treated for what was originally described as some sort of back injury but that now appears much more serious than initial reports suggested. “Rep. C. W. Bill Young’s condition turned for the worse [overnight] and he is gravely ill,” a spokesman for the congressman told the paper.
