Demonstrations Erupt Across the Country to Protest Zimmerman Acquittal

Protesters gathered across the country Sunday to express their support for Trayvon Martin and demonstrate against the acquittal of George Zimmerman. In New York, between 1,000 to 2,000 people marched toward Times Square, halting traffic, reports Reuters. Around 500 people marched in Boston and San Francisco. In Los Angeles, at least one person was arrested following clashes between police officers and protesters that blocked a freeway. Protests also took place in Chicago, Miami, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C., among other cities.
