Sarah Palin on Syria: Let Allah Sort it Out

Former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin told a crowd of Washington conservatives that the United States shouldn’t get involved in Syria—at least while President Obama remains in office.

“We’re talking now more, new interventions, I say until we know what we’re doing, until we have a commander in chief who knows what he’s doing … well, in these radical Islamic countries aren’t even respecting basic human rights, when both sides are slaughtering each other as they scream over an arbitrary red line, Allahu Akbar, I say until we have someone who knows what they’re doing, I say: Let Allah sort it out.”

The White House pledged to supply military support to Syrian rebels this week, saying intelligence agencies confirmed the Syrian military has used chemical weapons.

Palin spoke on the final day of the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s “Road to Majority” conference in Washington, D.C., where she criticized Democrats and called the capital a “hot mess.”

“The problem is, that these politicos with these religious faith in the power of government and elitist disdain for the rights of people,” Palin said, according to Politico. “The scandals infecting this city—they are a symptom of a bigger disease.”

It was at this same conference that, a day earlier, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said the U.S. economy would benefit from immigrants in part because they’re “more fertile.”
