Brooklyn’s “Miracle Baby” Born After Hit-and-Run Crash Has Died

This already sad story got that much sadder this morning, via CBS New York:

A newborn baby boy who was delivered by emergency cesarean section after his parents were killed in a horrific crash in Brooklyn has died, according to community leader Isaac Abraham.

Abraham said he was informed early Monday morning that the baby boy of Nachman and Raizy Glauber, both 21, had died around 5:30 a.m. He only weighed about four pounds when he was delivered early Sunday morning. “If he would have stayed alive, he would have been in memory and a little reminder to the grandparents of his parents,” Abraham told 1010 WINS. “And now that little boy has been torn away as well.”

The emergency birth became front-page news Sunday after the Glaubers were killed by a hit-and-run accident early Sunday morning in Brooklyn while they were on their way to the hospital. Raizy was taken to Bellevue Hospital after the crash, where doctors performed an emergency C-section before she died. The newborn baby had been in serious condition but was expected to survive.

The driver of the livery cab that was taking the Glaubers to the hospital is in serious condition. Police are still looking for the driver and passenger of the other car in the accident, a gray BMW.
