Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton won’t be taking much time off after stepping down from the Obama administration. She will likely join the paid speaking circuit this spring, probably in April or May, reports Politico’s Mike Allen, who was first with the news that she selected the Harry Walker Agency to represent her. The news has been confirmed by the company as it posted an announcement on its website this morning saying Clinton “has joined the Harry Walker Agency exclusively for her speaking engagements.”
The Harry Walker Agency already represents Clinton’s husband, and many of the most high-profile paid speakers from the world of politics and media, including former vice president Dick Cheney, former vice president Al Gore, and former UN secretary-general Kofi Annan. No word on how much money Clinton will get per speech but she’s expected to have “fees well into the six figures” and will likely “be one of the highest paid speakers in the history of the circuit,” writes Allen. But, as is usually the case with such high-profile personalities, Clinton is also expected to speak for free for causes she believes in and even occasionally donate her fees.
