Malala Yousafzai Discharged From Hospital in UK

Some good news out of England, where Malala Yousafzai, the 15-year-old Pakistani girls’ education activist who was shot in the head and neck by the Taliban in October, was discharged from the hospital today.

Her doctors say that the teen still has a lot of recovering to do, but is well enough to receive outpatient treatment until she’s re-admitted for surgery in a few weeks. “In the meantime she will visit the hospital regularly to attend clinical appointments,” the hospital explained.

She’ll stay with her family in their temporary West Midlands home. The hospital also released this video of the teenager walking out of the facility:

Also on Thursday, Malala’s father Ziauddin Yousafzai was employed by the Pakistan consulate in Birmingham, England as their education attache. He’ll keep that post for at least three years, according to CNN.
