U.N. Recognizes State of Palestine

As expected, the United Nation's today overwhelmingly voted to upgrade the Palestinians' status to "nonmember observer state," despite the wishes of the United States and Israel. The final vote: 138 for and 9 against, with 41 abstentions. You can read more on the vote, and what it means, over at the Washington Post.
