Someone has finally removed Justin Bieber from his YouTube throne. South Korean rapper PSY and his hugely popular Gangnam Style video officially surpassed Justin Bieber’s Baby over the Thanksgiving weekend, notes YouTube’s Trends blog. As of Sunday morning, Gangnam Style had more than 815 million views while Baby was a few hundred thousand short of 805 million.

Bieber’s video has been at the top since July 2010 and remains hugely popular with as many as 500,000 views a day. Yet that’s nothing compared with how quickly PSY’s video rose to the top. Lots of searches for the video were first detected in South Korea in late July until it peaked in September in North America and Brazil. Now the video is watched somewhere between 7 and 10 million times a day, according to YouTube.
