We can all now drop the cumbersome presumptive tag we’ve been sticking in front of Mitt Romney’s name for the past several months. Now, it’s GOP nominee Mitt Romney.

Politico reports from Tampa:

“As the states voted in alphabetical order this afternoon, it was the New Jersey delegation that cast the ballots to put Romney over the top. A cheer went up in the hall as Romney crossed that long-sought marker, creating one of the first truly festive moments in a convention that began under the pall of Hurricane Isaac.”

Paul Ryan joins the ticket as the vice presidential candidate by voice acclimation.
