Muji Used 10,000 of Its Products to Make a Scale Model of Tokyo

Muji built a scale model of Tokyo using 10,000 of its products.

Ryohin Keikaku

Using 10,000 of its minimalist stationery, home, and lifestyle products, Japanese brand Muji has created a whimsical, surprisingly detailed scale model of Tokyo. The model includes famous landmarks such as Tokyo Tower and Shibuya Crossing made from notebooks, pencil sharpeners, pairs of striped socks, makeup applicators, luggage tags, clear acrylic storage containers of all sizes, and much more.

Created with help from Japanese creative agency Dot by Dot and production company Tasko, the project is part of a promotional campaign about the city, in collaboration with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The scale model will be on display at Muji’s Fifth Avenue location in New York City from March 19 to April 24 after being exhibited in Taipei, Taiwan.
