Bobby Valentine Is Managing Snow. (He Seems to Be Good at It.)

Bobby Valentine, the wildly successful former baseball

skipper of the Chiba Lotte Marines

, was out in the snow in Stamford, Connecticut this morning

directing traffic

.

After removing his name from consideration for the Baltimore Orioles managerial job this past season and being passed over for a return engagement as manager of the New York Mets, Valentine has taken on a $10,000 position as

safety director of the town of Stamford

.

“This is my job,” he told a TV reporter who asked him why he was there (and who referred to him, rather unfairly, as a “minicelebrity”). Rather than answering questions, Valentine spent much of his camera time explaining to a motorist how to bypass the stopped traffic on I-95.
