Cindy Adams, check your messages! Mere days after Tina Brown poached the Washington Post's Howard Kurtz for the Daily Beast, the New York Post announced that Richard Johnson , its Page Six gossip editor for almost a quarter century, is moving to News Corp.'s "new digital ventures."

Lloyd Grove , Johnson's Daily News rival earlier this decade, is already an editor at large for the Daily Beast .

There was always something a little bit virtual about Page Six, which did not run on the sixth page of the Post. Still, the Village Voice declared that the move means the page's reign is " categorically, finally finished. " The Internet: refuge for the exhausted.
