The 2004-2005 Oklahoma Sooners have apparently won the Orange Bowl five years after the fact, as the NCAA buried a decade’s worth of USC football and basketball , past and future, under a pile of forfeits, postseason bans, and scholarship reductions. On the field, the Sooners had lost to the Trojans, 55-19 .
The
undefeated 2004-2005 Auburn Tigers
, left out of the BCS championship game, presumably remain that season’s No. 2 team.
The University of Oklahoma is reportedly expected to join USC in the Pac-10 conference in the
ongoing realignment
of big-time amateur football.
