Stare at Stairs

It’s best not to speculate on the Google search that might lead one to stumble across Stair Porn , but the site is well worth a visit. Despite the presence of some see-through little numbers and lots of lovely curves , it’s not what you think: Stair Porn is photos of stairs and only stairs—inventive, soaring, clever, and still fully usable stairs. There’s one new post per day highlighting a noteworthy set, accompanied by admirably terse captions offering a few salient details about material and construction. The archives are similarly unpretentious; you browse not by architect or school, but by material ("steel," "spiral,") or shape ("helical," "straight"). This isn’t a site for criticism, just appreciation. Without guidance, how to know what you like? You’ll know it when you see it .
