U.S. National Security’s Atrocious Infographic Problem

In response to recent revelations about government surveillance programs, we’re seeing new waves of leaks, and the Department of Defense’s 2008 “NetOps Strategic Vision” document ended up on the Web. I don’t have much to say about the substance, but note that nothing from America’s national security agencies seems to get published without some incredibly lame infographic.

What on earth is this?

At any rate, there are obviously bigger policy issues in play, but I have to say that I think well-run organizations wouldn’t rely on this kind of garbage in their internal presentations.
