Mac Sales Wildly Outperforming the PC Industy

The relative health of the Mac business is interesting and certainly seems like a huge thumbs down for Windows 8

We learned earlier in April that PC sales suffered a 14 percent year-on-year decline in units shipped. Today, Apple announced a measely 2 percent decline in units shipped paired with a 7.3 percent increase in revenues.

This turns out to be basically irrelevant to Apple surprising markets with strong earnings. The growth that mattered came from the iPad and the iPhone continues to be the company’s revenue workhorse. But as I said this morning, the relative health of the Mac business is interesting and certainly seems like a huge thumbs down for Windows 8.
