Wall Street Says Thumbs Down to Office Depot/OfficeMax Merger

As you can see from the above graph, Wall Street is not responding kindly to the news of Office Depot's announced merger with OfficeMax. What's strange about this is that, intuitively, when one company acquires another it should give them a boost. The fact that investors have even less faith in the company on the heels of this news doesn't bode well for the future of OfficeDepotMax.
