Boeing’s 787 problem just keeps getting worse. This morning the planes were grounded in Japan over converns about battery-induced fires and now American regulators are joining the party and saying the state-of-the-art jets can’t fly.
Only one American carrier—United—currently has any 787s and they’d said that they’ve tested and inspected their small fleet and they’re good to fly. But the Federal Aviation Administration disagrees saying that the root cause of the battery problem isn’t understood. Boeing lost almost $2 billion in market capitalization today on the continued bad news about their flagship new product.
